I’m full of sloppy joe’s…a great feeling. Today was deemed a no pants afternoon, so lounging in the knit boxers and robe. I may get in a mix when I have to run for the weekly supply…run….Watching Allison Krause and Union Station on the box…granted, I should be watching sports of some sort, but I guess you can’t go wrong with bluegrass on a decieiving day (sunny out, but only56). Imbarking on the terrible quest of cleaning the bathroom, and other nasty things, like the coffee table…….so as you can see, I’m really trying to enliven my day.

On a wholly different note, I went to see Hitchhiker’s guide last night with ROOMIE PRIME, Dana Sedai, De-money, and Jake. Movie was a roit. Sure, it wasn’t the book in it’s whole, but can anything really be as cool as that book? It will probably langish in the land of mixed reviews, then bank when the DVD comes out in five months. Of course, that wasn’t the whole of the night….to set the stage, I need to hit the ATM (as usual), and we’re running a bit behind. ROOMIE PRIME is driving, and well, after we get the cash, get behind a truck heading up into the Forum 8 parking lot. The truck in front of us slows done for some teenies to move (this is the de facto hangout for youngings….), but when it passes them, doesn’t speed up at all….I’m thinking some 17 year old looking to score. So, ROOMIE PRIME goes around the truck and heads to the parking lot. Up 70 yards, get to an intersection where the truck is looking to get in front, but we pull through first (note, we did have the right of way). Get into our parking spot, and heading into the building, the truck is behind us. So, I’m thinking, great, this kids gonna cause trouble, and we’re going to be really late cause we’ve gotta crack some skulls. The problem….it’s not a kid, and he’s got a gun…..CHRIST, IT’S A COP. That’s right, we smoked a unmarked cop. So, he trys to give ROOMIE PRIME the business, but he fails, and lets us go. So, we miss the dancing dolphins, but the rest of the movie and night was uneventful.

As for the rest, BBQ at Dana Sedai tonight…science and softball tomorrow…

I don’t get it sometimes, but how does one feel uncomfortable…during a slow pitch softball game? I don’t know, but I just didn’t feel right playing on Wednesday…if could have been that we were in a pitcher’s duel. Loseing a game 2-1 isn’t right…not in this league. But, they did have one hell of a shortstop…great range. As for me, went 1-3. No RBI or runs, so the line is .333/.333/.583. Need to get that up. At least, at third, didn’t get an error, so something’s good did happen. Mikey got a homer, but also struck out, so he’s got the beer next week. Also, play the other Dalton team, which I think I can take. At least there’ll be lots of taunting.

On the lighter side of things, today was my last day of TAing. Glad that I’m done, but I will miss it at times. Good to have younger people to talk to during the week. But, having to go up to the med school for that time can really hamper the research, so there’s six more hours durning the week that I’ll have next year.

Good God!!! Has it been so long?!?! So, I again have broken one of my resolutions to write more often. Granted, I’ve been busy a lot, but the excuses keep mounting, and I still ain’t writing. So, I quick recap of the last month:

Spent a week in San Diego, doing some science Cali-style. Great weather, people, and lots of good beer. Got a mention about a post-doc offer in Texas, and flirtered with a tech for three days straight (but her boyfriend seems to have a good hold).

May have gotten the lab to go my way. Picked up some tips out west, and there moving me forward. Got my seminar pushed back a month, so going to take care of my dissertation proposal and start writing a few grants.

Softball starts up again tomorrow (rain out last week). Look for the Thursday wrap-up. For those of you that don’t get enough of me talking about myself, going to do an even better job keeping tract of my stats.

Got a decent amount of cash from the tax return, then blew it on a new laptop….37 minutes later. Thank the maker for credit.

Leg’s been doing fine. My muscle aren’t where I thought they’d be, but the calf is getting closer and the stability is still there. When it quits raining all the damn time, I’ll be able to remide all of that.

That’s it for now…more to come, sooner or later…
