Again, I have been driven down to the status of petty criminal….here’s the story. The Newman musical (which I’m in, if you’ve fallen off the planet) was yesterday and Friday (and Monday, so come out again). Going smashingly. Went to Old Chicago Friday night, as in about 35 of us…cause some difficulty, with the waite staff. I understand there pain, being in there shoes before. So, in an effort to hold the sanity of the bar workers, and to get people to help Jason and I finish off this keg o’Killians, I said, “come to our place.” Seemed like a good idea, and round about 10:30, there’s roughly 30 or so people in the living room, having a grand old time. Playing “spoons”, keeping it real, and the like. About 11:30 or so, get a knock on the door. Nick Johnson opens it up, looks out, and then closes it. Calls me over, saying the door is for me. I’m thinking its a lost pizza guy, but no….it’s the Police!?!? Apparently, we’ve been “disturbing” other people, and someone called them. According to the police, in many more words…it’s bubkis. However, cause of some policy of CPM (those that run my complex), a summonds must be written. So, two rather nice officers of the peace write me a ticket, inform me that if they come back, they’ll have to arrest me, and go on their way…nice folk. So, I’ve returned to my life of petty crime. I’ve haven’t gotten a noise violation in about four years. Now, I’m not sure what the cost of this is going to be, and neither did the polizia, but, someone past a hat around, and got $48 in donations. Catholics…gotta love them. The debate at hand is whether we go to court over this, or just pay the fine. If it’s under $100, I’m going to just pay it, for that’s not worth the sweat. Anything more, and I’ll consider it. Just have to call up the courthouse to find out how much it is.
