This is for the folk that aren’t at Mizzou no mo’….the girl and I went to the rec center this night…and man!!!…it is fancy. The weight room is huge, with new everything…there’s plasma screen everywhere, showing music videos from ZouTV or something…and not your typical, MTV crapola….I walk in to Harvey Danger on one channel, and listened to the end of a dishwalla tune on another…yet another showed DMB soon after…and if you’re lucky, you get one of so many eliptical machines, tredmills, or bikes that has it OWN tv…with a DVD PLAYER!!!! Nucking Futs, I tell ya. Also, there is a seperate weight room that has only a few tv’s, but no music blasting. This is all the second floor of the new south addition (the south wall is where those stairmasters were). There is also a climbing wall intergrated…more just a big piece of fake rock three stories high…and not with those panzy hand holds…this is just a rock, with some divits here and there…if I ever get my arms in shape, I’m there….As for the rest of the place, the old weight area is all aerobics (that whole section is three of them)..and that’s all I looked at…go there to late to gawk. The pool is still being tiled, and is due to be finished by May. I’m not sure it was worth the money, but the wait maybe…and finally, you can get a decent workout in.
