Matt Nathanson was cool….gotta respect a traveler like himself…and having a knowledge of 80’s metal. Got my comprehensive exams signed off, so now going to spend the next month doing research and the link….with luck, will get a grant submitted in January. Also, if the funding is there, I’m going to get to go to a conference in France next summer. Must only get over my fear/hatred of flying, and my general disdain of the french. Good Bourban burns….I think that I will enjoy teaching, but not the part when I have to know all the answers. I still feel weird giving explinations to large groups of people, knowing that the misstep could spell ruin.

Steadily approaching five (?) months with the girl. Seems like it’s been longer, but the time has slowed since school started….but so has my workload. She’s coming up north with me to the parent’s house….only hope that she’s not bored to tears…not a whole lot of things to do there, and if it’s cold, then there’s even less. At least I’ll have five days to eat myself stupid. Going to try and not eat for the first week of December…may be hibernate some.
